Success - Sketch is now on Laptop!

I was able to photograph the sketch and then straighten and crop it. Now it is ready for stage two. The faces of the characters in the sketch will be blended with photos of head/face-like shapes made out of modeling clay. Also, some text relating to the concept of the artwork will be added in a column on either the left or right side. The river may also be blended with a photograph of a river and the colour of the dog might get changed.

It's called, "Lost Track of Time".

From paper to pixels...

This is the setup I'm going to try using to get my sketch into my computer for the next stage in my creative process. The photo will be taken in the daylight though using the natural light to hopefully get a better capture without any discoloration. In the first attempt using this method there was a reflection on a small part of the page that was not lying completely flat. I went out and bought some tape to tape-down any parts of the page that want to curl up. So, tomorrow's attempt will likely be more successful.

Art Photo blog starting tonight!

This photo doesn't show it very well but the scanned version of this sketch is very different in colour and detail than the original sketch. I am going to have to attempt to photograph the sketch to get a good quality version into photoshop that actually looks like the original (atleast to start with). I'll post a picture tomorrow after photographing it. This blog will be a chronicle of the development of a piece of art until it is finished and then it will continue with the next piece that I'm working on.
